Gyro International raises further £6m of funding

8 November 2006 – Gyro International, the integrated brand communications agency, today announced that it has secured a further £6 million of growth capital from an investment syndicate led by Octopus Investments.

This latest round of funding follows the £3 million that Octopus and its partners provided in February 2005.

The additional investment will be used to fuel the continued spectacular growth of the agency. Further international offices will be opened in key strategic markets and the company will be looking to make acquisitions to bolster key growth areas of the business. Gyro aims to become the world’s largest independent agency network offering unrivalled integrated communication expertise to all of its local and international clients, throughout the network.

Gyro’s turnover this year will be in excess of £25m, an increase of over 50% compared with 2005. This continues a trend of extremely strong top line profitable growth. Gyro is the fastest growing large agency in the UK and has achieved this position through being focused on solving its clients’ business challenges through integrated communication programmes.

The company provides integrated marketing services including brand strategy and identity, on and off-line advertising, direct marketing, web marketing, event management, corporate collateral, video & moving image and media planning services.

Gyro’s clients currently include Adobe, Sony, Oracle, American Express, HP, Rentokil Initial, Moss Bros, Tate & Lyle, Palm and Virgin Atlantic. The company was founded in 1991 and has established offices in London, Geneva, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Dublin, Hamburg, New York and San Francisco.

Gary Brine, founder and CEO of Gyro International, said: “Gyro is now one of the largest independent marketing businesses in Europe and we have achieved extraordinary growth over the past few years without compromising either our client service levels or our one brand network strategy.

“This latest round of funding will ensure that we can accelerate our growth and reach our stated goal of being the largest independent agency network within the next few years.”

Chris Allner, Director, Octopus Investments, commented: “Gyro has proved to be a great investment for the syndicate over the last couple of years and we’re looking forward to Gyro continuing to out-perform the market moving forward. We’re proud to be associated with Gyro International.”
